My wife and I have owned a lot of cars, other Porsches and high performance German’s, a few Italian’s and even a Lexus. In all our experience of buying these cars and the dealers (including franchised ones) who sell and service them has been dreadful. Chasing updates, getting accurate pricing and dealing with poor product knowledge, makes the experience of buying or servicing a performance car an unnecessary chore in Ireland.
Having recently purchased a 997 which was out of Porsche warranty and having being less then impressed from previous encounters with the OPC’s on the Island most recently for my wife’s Boxster, we decided we would give OPH a try to look after this car. From my first interaction with Connaire and OPH, the experience has been far removed from the norm. Starting with an initial inspection to identify and resolve the faults, then working with me on a few upgrades to improve the car further. I got regular updates, phone calls, emails and even photos of the work as it progressed. Combined with accurate and realistic estimates and a sense of knowledge about the cars that was both useful in talking about the work, but also reassuring given the final bill.
I can’t recommend him and the team in OPH highly enough and just wish more companies operated like this in Ireland.

When I bought my Porsche Cayman S over a year ago I knew that it needed a thorough overhaul and servicing as I was sceptical about the previous owners service history. I was given Connaire Finn’s name by a colleague and I was very glad that I brought my car to Optimum Performance and Handling. From the outset I found Connaire very pleasant and professional. He maintains a very clean, well organised workshop and employs the best Porsche Specialist mechanics in Dublin. Initially, the car was given a complete “Health-Check” and I was given a quotation on necessary repairs to consider before any work began. I found Connaire’s prices to be reasonable and quite competitive. As it happened there were a number of spurious parts to replace and a few small repairs needed and other than routine maintenance since then (oil and filter change etc.), I haven’t looked back and my Cayman runs like a dream. The quality of OPH workmanship is superb.
I found, by chance, that Connor and I had a common interest in Motorsport. Connaire is well respected as a Professional Racing driver and few can challenge him on Irish tracks so he now races in England. However, he agreed to take my 14yr old son Luke under his wing and entered him in the Ginetta Junior Championship 2012. Connor was his mentor and instructor for the 12 race season and had to not only teach him how to drive but how to drive a 1.4litre 5-speed race car on a race track. Connaire maintains the Ginnetta G20, ensures it is safe and ready for the track, transports the car on race days and is with Luke every step of the way at race meetings. Then it’s down to Luke to do his best during the race.
So far he has proven to be a skillful driver and one of the best of the beginner’s. Hopefully with experience, future seasons will bring a podium finish and we hope to encourage other junior driver’s to join the team. It’s not all work though. Connaire invited Luke and me to join a few friends at the Nurburgring in Germany earlier in the year. It has to be the ultimate driving thrill! I was passenger while Connaire drove beside a Ferrari 458, a Porsche GT 2 and the brand new Porsche 991 to name but a few.
It was a great weekend. Only Luke was disgusted because he was too young to drive. I have come to know Connaire very well over the last twelve months and I have absolutely no qualms in recommending him and OPH to anyone.

Hi Connaire, I just thought I’d drop you a few lines about your service and my experience as a porsche owner. When i bought my porsche 2 years ago i was hesitant to let anybody other than porsche main dealership to service my car, but after doing some research i came across OPH. Your mechanic is very experienced and possible the most qualified porsche mechanic in Ireland at the moment. In short I’ve been very happy with OPH service so far.
